LGB - a control - Network
The network topology
has a radial implementation, originating from a hub. All of the components are hooked up via cables featuring RJ45 connectors, a commercial CAT5- or twisted-pair wiring.

No rule without exception - there also is a line of a different kind. The "historical line" from the basement to the garage incorporates a BNC wiring, say a RG58 cable is in use here. In the basement it is connected to the hub using a AUI/BNC converter while the SingleChip-PC and the access point in the garage are connected to it using BNC/CAT5 converters.

The AUI-port is located on the hub's rear side
