As luck had it, it was possible to acquire two of the yellow dump containers separately which belong to the set of three carrier cars which have been delivered lately. These now can be used with the carriers of the container cars - a quite cost-effective solution for "new cars". Further swap bodies sure were a nice extension to Maerklin's portfolio...

After successfully completing the WR3810's detailing the WR3815 was tarted up in the same way after it had been an unobstrusive part of the rolling stock for many years. The car's face sides details and the entrance area's steps got a paint matching the prototype. The interior was equipped with numerous details and both the kitchen area and the corridor got an additional illumination consisting of two LEDs each.

One of the Kroks showed a really strange behaviour lately: It suffered from severe contact problems in one direction only, which resulted in bucking and even stopping. Attempts to eliminate this fault by replacing the pickup shoes and the carbon brushes as well as checking all cables and contacts were without success. Interestingly, this effect only was observed in case the traction tire was in front. Hence the tire was replaced with a new one and the axle holding the traction tire was swapped with the corresponding axle on the opposite side without a tire... which idiosyncraticly - but luckily - cured the problem.
