Climate change

The warming in spring can't be denied, even by sceptics, which the following pictures clearly do prove. A new blanket of snow showed up one morning late in April which fortunately had replaced by almost summer-like conditions three weeks later. Both of the pictures were taken from nearly the same perspective and show the seasonal difference.

Three weeks past Easter...

... and a week past Pentecost.

Suitable weather for the open observation cars.

A shady place for the passengers, yet...

The journey continues after the opposite train arrived.

The green era - both regarding trains and seasons which provides for internal and external warmness.

Bulk cement wagons entering the freight station.

Back to the 70s ...

At least the choice of the rolling stock which had been put out a week past Pentecost suggests this imagination. The reason why this material had been choosen was a contact issue with the crocodile which arose a day before. The repair's check was meant to be done in an adequate setting ...
Against all fears the contact issue could be cured by replacing the pickup shoes and polishing the wheel treads as well as cleaning the tracks.

When comparing the visual impression of the crocodile with modern errant Tupperware, like f.i. the Taurus or ICE, one could think there is a little truth in the saying "Everything used to be better in former times". But then, I doubt this and state "Everything used to be different in former times".

A journal hot off the press for Mr. Preiser

Printed...

Cut...

Glued...

Since this guy's newspaper had decomposed itself due to atmospheric influences several times, the malady was extirpated. Pictures of the "Neue Zuercher" were printed on white weatherproof self-adhesive film (Avery 6575 8.5 x 11" for laser printers) and glued onto a small piece of thin polystyrene (0.5x25x35mm) which then was fold and bent a bit. A silk mat clear coat was applied after mounting the new paper. Now Mr. Preiser is up to date again...

Graphics download for your repair of this figure - the printout's dimension has to be 25x69mm.
