Cement containers for the RhB Sb

were a must as a load for these freight cars I built lately. This was clear from the beginning and nothing would change my mind.

There were declarations of intent by third parties to offer such cement containers (even as a kit), but no model appeared on the market, yet. Hence there was no alternative to build such models myself...

Start of construction

After most of the required materials were acquired and some friendly help of the prototype's manufacturer (GOFA) who passed me a drawing and some photos of the details, I finally was able to begin building the model:

Mixing the ingredients was up next - in many aspects without a single recipe being handy.

The making of the first polystyrene and acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene parts

Completely new recipes were tested successfully - vacuum swaging:

A first concrete result - but still a long way to go.

Mixing tap for charging and discharging - fine soldering diploma required.

After mounting the numerous small parts which meanwhile were made, just the outlet pipe and its butterly valve are missing now.

Varnishing is up next !

A detailed construction report with numerous pictures describing the project's steps is available (in German only) in the project area.
