Depressed center car

The LGB model of the RhB Sb-t 65659 can be attested to in terms of its function. Also, the execution of the model, in terms of detailing and scale, is much better than some other earlier products. Nevertheless, the manufacturer - apparently traditionally - allows the customer to implement various improvements, the detailing lacks the appropriate depth. The delivery status on the left, the revised status on the right:

The lower end of the handbrake crank has been adjusted to make the gearbox appear more prototypical. Furthermore, ascent steps were attached below the chassis. In order to continue to ensure R1 suitability despite the ascent steps, the couplings were exchanged with the narrower S-KupliX variant. Parts of the buffer beam and its fastening and the air hoses were given a prototypical colour adjustment.
A prototypical implementation of both the handrails and brake system would mean a disproportionate effort due to the car's construction. Then you could build the car yourself from scratch...

A prototype photo showed that the LGB model's face sides would do more justice to the prototype with a few splashes of colour. Said, brushed. A click on the picture on the left shows it more clearly: Brass-coloured door hinges, window frames (porthole), locks and handles as well as red air hose couplings.

Door hinges and handles have also been treated accordingly in the interior. The obligatory figures appropriate to the epoch as well as interior lighting consisting of 5 LEDs, which are fed power by a unit hidden under a seat, also belong to the special equipment.

Light gimmicks

The offers on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Faller company tempted the purchase of station accessories to replace material that weather and time had gnawed at. An Almex vending machine received a backlit screen and a clock was converted into an illuminated sign.

Behind the machine's screen (wall cut out and replaced with clear polystyrene) was placed a small ABS plastic box open to the screen, containing a hole for inserting a lightbulb. The casework of the watch has been removed and the dial replaced with a 0.5mm thick piece of ABS plastic. Advertising printed on weatherproof self-adhesive film... done.
