Interior decoration - or how to abolish 30 meters of adhesive film.

It indeed took a period of three years before I got around taking care of the VT98's interior to make it look a bit more prototypical.
Pictures of the model's prototype had been waiting quite a long time for being used as a guideline for the redesign and now the time had finally come to really put the hands on it. The Piko VT98's more or less simple interior was meant to get a more attractive appearance by applying "a bit of paint".

I'll start with the result for a change:

The upgrade process started with removing the hints of handrails on top of the seats, which were replaced by brass rods with a diameter of 1.5mm. Next a basic color was applied to all of the parts prior to airbrushing the parts in the required different colors subsequently - beige, green, gray, black, silver and brown. In the face of the fissured injection-molded parts which Piko meant to show both the VT's and VS' interior, spraying each of the colors resulted in an orgy of masking. In the end around 30 meters of adhesive film (3M Scotch Magic - a really good choice for use with the airbrush gun) had been used up.

The following slide show demonstrates the project's specific steps:

Now just the drapes are missing on the windows...
